The history of the creation of the Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro de Barretos begins with the birth of the Club on the afternoon of July 15, 1955, in a bar. Several young men from Barretos society then decided to found a group, soon named “Os Independentes”, as its members had to be single and financially self-sufficient.
The Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro de Barretos was not born from a simple whim of this group of boys, but rather as a fair tribute to the important character in the economic and cultural history of this region, who is the Peão de Boiadeiro. The Festival has its main and most authentic attraction in the Rodeo.
